John DiIulio Luncheon

When and where: 12:30pm on Tuesday, February 26th, in S202.

The first director of President Bush’s Faith-Based Initiative, John DiIulio is currently Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania.

Moreover, he’s also the recent author of Godly Republic: A Centrist Blueprint for America’s Faith-Based Future.

We’re very fortunate to have Prof. DiIulio joining us, so please come for some thoughtful and stimulating discussion. A catered lunch will be served.

Robert George Seminar

When and Where: 1:30pm on Wednesday, February 20th, in the JED room.

We’re pleased to announce that the prolific author and scholar Robert George will be leading an afternoon seminar with us.

A professor of jurisprudence at Princeton University, Professor George will be giving a brief presentation on “Democratic Pluralism, Public Reason, and Religious Faith,” after which we’ll open up for informal questions and comments.

Professor Hall Luncheon

Join us this week for a discussion with Professor Peter Dobkin Hall, on “The Accountability of Faith-Based Organizations.”

Formerly of Yale Divinity School, Professor Hall now teaches at Harvard.

Marisa Van Saanen Luncheon

When and where: 12:30pm on Monday, February 4th, in S117.

This week we’ll be talking about faith and development with Marisa Van Saanen, formerly the Faith Liaison for the World Bank.

Now a Yale Law School student, Marisa is co-author, with Katherine Marshall, of Development and Faith: Where Mind, Heart, and Soul Work Together.

Habeck Presentation

When and Where: 11:30am on Thursday, April 12, in the JED room.

Professor Mary Habeck is the author of Knowing the Enemy: Jihadist Ideology and the War on Terror, and an Associate Professor of Strategic Studies at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins. Professor Habeck will be giving a presentation on “An Evangelical Response to the War on Terror,” and leading a discussion thereafter. The presentation will be held in the JED Room from 11:30-1:00. Lunch will be provided.
